breed info - our view

Our experience with the Miniature Bull Terrier has only been for a couple of years, however, we have learned so much about the breed in our own experiences and through the advice and experience of others.  Far from being experts, we can only offer what we have learned and hope it will be of some help to you.  We also welcome any questions and will try our best to help you in your search for answers about the Miniature Bull Terrier.

Serendipity is a wonderfully happy, playful, and clownish dog.  We have never had a dog quite like her.  She loves new people, but she loves new dogs even more! If there is another dog around, people do not exist.

The breed is very sweet, however, they are not very aware of personal space, nor pain thresholds.  A mini will have no problem cuddling up next to you, and in the next minute bouncing on top of you with all of their weight and head butting you. Many a black eye and broken nose have been the result of not being wary of a Miniature Bull Terrier's playful abandon.

This playful abandon is often known as HUCKLEBUTTING. As loving as this breed is, they are very powerful, and they are quite unaware of this fact.  Definitely not a breed for beginner dog owners, this dog is entirely solid, muscular, and quite stubborn at times; true to their terrier nature.

A well natured and well trained bull terrier can still be provoked, and if a fight is started with another dog, they certainly have the ability to end it.  The breed was bred to be a "gladiator" of breeds and is also known as the White Cavalier because of their fearlessness. Sometimes, we just think that our mini is being silly and dumb. *wink* However, she does keep us wondering whether she is simply stupid, or extremely smart due to her actions.

Still, if you find that the bull terrier, or miniature in our case, is the breed for you, they certainly make their mark as their childish demeanor is unmatched by any other breed.  Serendipity has unquestionably nestled her way into our hearts.
